Fisher German sought to modernise energy management across their portfolio of seven industrial units while simultaneously upgrading the site’s exterior lighting infrastructure. The existing manual meter reading process was time-consuming and prone to errors, while the aging street lighting system was energy-intensive and required frequent maintenance.
Our comprehensive solution addressed both challenges. We replaced all legacy meters with smart sub-metering systems, enabling remote monitoring capabilities across all seven units. The new automated meter reading (AMR) system provides real-time energy consumption data through a user-friendly cloud platform, allowing property managers to monitor usage patterns, generate automated reports, and accurately allocate energy costs across multiple tenants. Simultaneously, we modernised all exterior and street lighting with energy-efficient LED fixtures, incorporating smart controls for automated operation based on daylight levels and occupancy patterns.
The results have transformed site operations. The remote monitoring system has eliminated the need for manual meter readings, saving approximately 8 hours per month in staff time while providing more accurate and timely data. Property managers can now identify unusual consumption patterns immediately and address potential issues before they impact tenants. The LED street lighting upgrade has reduced exterior lighting energy consumption by 75% while improving site security and visibility. The combined solution demonstrates how industrial estates can leverage modern technology to improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and enhance property management capabilities. The project has also future-proofed the site’s infrastructure, supporting Fisher German’s long-term sustainability objectives.
